Privacy Policy
Tappel is built so there is nothing to collect. This policy explains exactly what that means.
Everything lives on your phone
Transactions, rules and budgets are stored on-device. iCloud sync, if you turn it on, uses your personal iCloud — we couldn't read it if we wanted to.
Nothing about you reaches us
Tappel downloads public exchange rates from the European Central Bank once a day. If you use Tappel Business, it also fetches NBP rates and exchanges invoices with KSeF: it sends the ones you issue and reads back the ones issued for your company. We run no server that receives your data.
No analytics, no tracking
No analytics SDKs, no advertising identifiers, no crash uploaders. The App Store privacy label says "Data Not Collected" because there is nothing to collect.
No bank credentials, ever
Tappel reads what your own phone already knows about an Apple Pay purchase. Your bank login never enters the picture.
Invoices and KSeF (Tappel Business)
Invoices, customers, services and business costs you enter in Tappel Business are stored on your iPhone and, if iCloud is on, in your own private iCloud. We never receive them. When you tap "Send to KSeF", your phone sends that invoice directly to the Ministry of Finance's National e-Invoice System (KSeF); it does not pass through any server of ours. The KSeF token you generate is kept in this iPhone's Keychain, is not synced anywhere, and is used only to sign in to KSeF. Tappel also reads back from KSeF the sales and purchase invoices issued for your company — once a day and when you tap "Fetch invoices from KSeF" — straight to your iPhone; they are stored like the rest of your invoices and never reach us. For an invoice in a foreign currency, Tappel fetches the published exchange rate from the National Bank of Poland; that request carries only a currency and a date.
Who we are
Tappel is made by Olloms sp. z o.o., registered in Poland (KRS 874483). Your app data never reaches us, so the only personal data we ever handle is what you send us by email. For that data we are the controller: we use your address and message only to reply. Write to [email protected].
Other people’s data on your invoices
Invoices carry details of your customers and suppliers — names, tax IDs, addresses, bank accounts. That includes invoices downloaded from KSeF and purchase invoices you add. Tappel keeps them only on your devices and in your iCloud and never sends them to us. You decide what is kept and for how long, so under data protection law these records are your responsibility, as with any invoicing tool you run yourself. We are not a processor of this data, because we never receive it. Invoices you send to or fetch from KSeF are also processed by the Ministry of Finance under its own rules.
Photos and files
When you scan a receipt for a personal expense, the photo is read on your iPhone and never saved. A receipt photo attached to a business cost, and a purchase invoice you add from a PDF or a photo, are saved with that cost — on your iPhone and in your iCloud — so the document is at hand for you and your accountant. They never reach us. Deleting the cost or invoice deletes the file too.
Reading text on your phone
Tappel reads receipts and invoices with Apple’s on-device text recognition, or from the PDF’s own text. On iPhones with Apple Intelligence, Apple’s on-device model also helps fill in invoice fields and suggest categories. All of this runs on your iPhone: nothing is sent to us or to anyone else, and you check every field before saving.
Family budget
If you share a budget, the people you invite see, under your name, the total you count towards it and its totals by category — not your individual purchases. You can choose to show more. If you turn on “Show my family spends” (it is off by default), the other members of that budget can see your family spends for the month: only spends that already count for the family — shared, paid for another member, or split by shares. For each of them they see the date, amount, category and merchant. Spends marked “Just me”, spends in categories that don’t count for the family, and your notes are never shown. If you turn it off, the spends shown for the current and the previous month are removed. A spend you tag with a family theme (for example “Gifts” or “Garden”) is also shown to the other members of that budget — its date, amount, category and merchant — for as long as it carries the theme; spends marked “Just me” can’t carry one. Sharing uses Apple’s iCloud sharing. Your shown spends travel in the same private iCloud zone as the totals and never pass through a Tappel server. An invite code is a small record in Tappel’s iCloud container that holds only the invite link and an expiry date; it expires after 30 days.
Purchases
Apple handles every purchase and subscription. We receive only Apple’s sales reports, which don’t tell us who you are.
Keeping and deleting your data
Your data stays until you delete it. Delete an entry and it disappears from the app on all your devices, together with any photo or file attached to it; delete the app and its data in your iCloud settings and everything is erased. We hold no copy to delete. Invoices sent to KSeF stay in KSeF. You have the rights the GDPR gives you — including access, correction, deletion and objection — and you can complain to the Polish data protection authority, the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO). Tax law may require you to keep invoices for several years, so delete them only if you have another copy.
